Pete Hegseth Signals Ongoing Military Campaign Against Iran

(MENAFN) US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth emphasized that American military actions targeting Iran are far from concluded, cautioning that the operation is merely in its initial stages as the United States and Israel continue their attacks into a second week.

In an interview broadcast on Sunday, Hegseth highlighted that Iran’s capacity to exert influence across the region is gradually declining.

“Diminishing and will be increasingly diminished. Again, what I want your viewers to understand is this is only just the beginning,” Hegseth stated, underscoring the early phase of the campaign.

The Pentagon reported that over 50,000 US military personnel are engaged in what it terms Operation Epic Fury, with approximately 3,000 targets within Iran having been struck by US forces as of Friday.
